Goal
The basic goal of Blackjack is to have the point value of your cards add up to more than the dealer's hand without exceeding 21.
Even though there are other players at the table, you are ONLY playing against the dealer.
You are initially dealt 2 cards. Based upon these cards you can keep drawing cards (called "hitting") or you can stop ("stand"). Just remember if you "hit" and go over 21 then you "bust", and if you "bust", then you lose. |

Card Values
Every card has a point value. The cards' suit does NOT matter. Numbered cards are worth their FACE VALUE: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Jacks, Kings, and Queens are all worth 10 POINTS.
Aces are worth EITHER 1 POINT OR 11 POINTS. If counting an Ace as 11 points makes your total over 21 then it will be counted as 1 point instead.

Dealing: Part 1
- Play as Player:
- Each player is dealt one card face up.
- The dealer is dealt once card face down (the "hole" card).
- Each player is dealt another card face up.
- Beginning with the player to the left of the dealer, each player can draw more cards ("hitting") to get closer to 21. If a player exceeds 21 by hitting they lose ("bust").
- Once each player has completed their hand the dealer proceeds to draw cards and complete their hand.

Dealing: Part 2
- Play as Dealer:
- "Hit" if you have below 17 points in your hand.
- "Hit" if you have a "Soft 17" made from an Ace(11) and a Six.
- "Stay" if you have 17 or more points in your hand.

Winning and Losing
- You WIN if:
- You get closer to 21 than the dealer
- If the dealer goes over 21 ("busts")
- You LOSE if:
- The dealer is closer to 21
- If YOU go over 21 ("bust")

What's "Blackjack"?
"Blackjack" is a combination of an Ace (11 points) and a card worth 10 points (10, Jack, Queen, King) on a player's first two cards. It is ONLY considered a "Natural" "Blackjack" if 21 is reached on the first two cards. Other combinations may add up to 21, but a "Natural" "Blackjack" beats these.
If a player gets "Blackjack" they automatically win unless the dealer also gets a "Natural" "Blackjack" in which case it's a tie ("push").
